## About

Jean Cocteau's 1946 film retells the classic tale of Belle, who gives up her freedom to save her father and goes to live in the Beast's enchanted castle. Little by little she discovers the kind heart behind his fearsome looks. The film was in the official competition at Cannes in 1946.
