1011fest: Documentary Theatre "Sunny Beach"

At the heart of "Sunny Beach" is the forced-labour camp near Lovech, established in 1959 and named after Bulgaria's popular seaside resort. The two places welcomed their first "guests" in the same year, but their stories have nothing in common. Directed by Lyubomir Sapundzhiev and performed by Yoana Dimitrova and Stefan Saraivanov, the production brings to light one of the lesser-known chapters of Bulgaria's communist regime and asks how we preserve our humanity.
