ACT FEST 2026 | Bodies of Power

"Bodies of Power" is a contemporary dance piece that treats power not as an abstract idea but as something physical — a sensation that "arrives slowly. First it enters through the pores, the posture, the chest...". The choreographers turn the body from an instrument of violence into "a territory of vulnerability," reimagining power through absurd, relentless theatrical forms in which bodies serve as props, the chorus stands for the people, and the stage stands for life itself — prompting the audience to recognize echoes of power dynamics familiar from archival photos, interviews, and institutional reports. Choreographers and performers are Ikar-award winners Iva Svescharova and Willi Prager, co-founders of the Antistatic contemporary dance festival, joined by an ensemble of Violeta Vitanova, Vasiliya Drebova, and Daniel Denev.
