Marlene Dietrich: Pursuit of Love

The Stefan Makedonski National Musical Theatre presents "Marlene Dietrich: Pursuit of Love," a musical drama about the life of one of the 20th century's greatest icons of film and music, written by Thomas Schendel and directed by Ivan Panev. The production looks past the cinematic "legend" to reveal an ordinary woman with an extraordinary hunger for life and love — through her coming of age, success, motherhood, love affairs and losses. Lyudmila Kozareva plays Marlene, alongside Aleksandar Valeriev and Stefan Petkov, with Mihail Donchev on piano. The show features some of Dietrich's best-known songs, which remain symbols of courage, boldness, inner freedom and beauty.
