Fest10.11: Discussion "The Motif of the Border in Bulgarian Cinema"

The discussion examines how the border is mythologized in several Bulgarian feature films made in the post-totalitarian period. Geographically, the border remains fixed — with neighboring Turkey — and the action remains the same: crossing it illegally. Over time, however, the directions, goals, and people fleeing change. The ideological charge depends on the period being depicted and when the film was made.
