Cinelibri: "She Who Remains"

"She Who Remains" a Bulgarian-Albanian-Italian co-production directed by Kostadin Bonev and based on the novel by Rene Karabash, screens as part of CineLibri. Set in the Albanian mountains, it follows sixteen-year-old Bekia, who publicly renounces her femininity and becomes a "sworn virgin" to escape a forced marriage — a decision that costs her father's life and splits her family. Ten years later she travels to Sofia to explain her choice.
