A Walk with Gogol

"A Walk with Gogol" is a tragicomedy based on Nikolai Gogol's prose, directed and adapted for the stage by Katya Petrova. In Gogol's world, sadness and tragedy are overcome through sparkling laughter, and life's paradoxes, refracted through whimsical fantasy, are at once comic and mysterious. The human and the otherworldly intertwine in his round dance — overcoats come alive, portraits speak, and noses stroll the boulevards. The production offers a fresh, original take on Gogol's work, bringing out his absurdist humor through a captivating, largely improvisational performance style.
