Vazov's People

The production "Vazov's People" (written by Alexander Sekulov, directed by Diana Dobreva) explores Ivan Vazov's place as a defining figure of Bulgarian cultural identity — his words serve as an anchor for national self-awareness in a world losing faith in God, homeland and heritage. Moving through wars, national catastrophes and ethnic tragedies, the show presents Vazov as an "eternally living image" and views Bulgarian destiny through his eyes. The production won the ASKEER 2022 award for contemporary Bulgarian drama.
