The Physics of Sorrow

Based on Georgi Gospodinov's novel "The Physics of Sorrow" (2012). The novel has been translated into more than 20 languages, won the Jan Michalski Prize (2016), and was a finalist for the Premio Strega Europeo. The production turns the novel's literary labyrinth of memories into a living theatrical world: at its center is a person trapped in his own labyrinth of past and future, with the myth of the Minotaur intertwined with personal and collective memory. A performance about empathy as a form of resistance.
