Pieces of a Woman

'Pieces of a Woman' by Kata Wéber, Chamber Stage of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre (1 hour 30 min, drama, not recommended for those under 18). Directed by Kris Sharkov; translated by Pravda Spasova; set design and costumes by Nikola Toromanov; music by Emiliyan Gatsov-Elbi; dramaturgy by Maya Pramatarova. Playwright Kata Wéber went through a deep personal trauma that drove her to write 'Pieces of a Woman'. Her talented recreation of that personal suffering invites shared feeling around themes contemporary art rarely engages with. The show is an occasion to rethink issues typical of the modern world — the fear of the Other, coping with pain, and the many faces of love. The play found a superb cast in the National Theatre's ensemble. Part of the 'Theatre+' programme. Starring Radina Kardzhilova, Maria Kavardzhikova, Stefan Valdobrev, Martin Dimitrov, Ana Papadopoulou, Tsvetan Aleksiev, Zhaklin Daskalova and Albena Stavreva.
