Illusions

"Illusions" is Artitude's staging of a play by Ivan Viripaev, directed by Neno Koinarski as a dark comedy. At its center are two couples who have spent more than fifty years together, each convinced they truly know the people they've shared their lives with. Their memories, promises and confessions gradually unravel that certainty: what looks like love may be self-deception, betrayal may be an act of loyalty, and the truth turns out to depend on who is telling it. The cast brings together Vanessa Peyankova, Jacqueline Daskalova, Antony Penev and Boyan Petrov, familiar to audiences from the film "Faith, Hope, Love." The play doesn't ask whether love is real, but whether it matters if we've believed in it our whole lives.
