The Nose

“The Nose” is a Theatre 199 production based on Nikolai Gogol's story of the same name, in a stage adaptation by Ina Bozhidarova and Veselka Kuncheva, who also directs. Set and costume design is by Marieta Golomehova, music by Hristo Namliev, with performances by Georgi Spasov and Polina Hristova. Taking the nose as the most noticeable feature of the human face, the show uses a playful, absurdist tone to explore character traits through its shape. The production received honors at the 2019 Ikar awards and the Piero Festival.
