Fest10.11: Discussion "The Inaccessible Borders of Communist Bulgaria"

During the years of state socialism, Bulgaria's border divided "military and political blocs" — it divided worlds. Crossing this border, legally or illegally, meant passing from one world into another. The discussion will briefly examine the border-guard system, ways of crossing the border, and the long-term consequences of the country's isolation.
