The Room of Pleasure Is Empty

This production by Emergency Theater explores the inner stage of the human psyche — the fears and repressed, rejected desires that surface through distorted, self-destructive behavior, guilt, and self-degradation. It opens four symbolic rooms — of pleasure, the child, the mother, and the father — to examine archetypal family patterns and personal trauma. Directed by Yuliana Saiska, the six performers search for catharsis and reconciliation with human imperfection, asking whether we can learn to feel pleasure again.
