Family Council

Family Council by Cristina Clemente, directed by Atanas Atanasov (translated by Neva Micheva), Theatre 199 “Valentin Stoychev” — the play's first staging in Bulgaria. A family has set up its own unusual form of home democracy: electing a chairperson for a four-year term, following strict meeting rules, voting on everything, and dividing up responsibilities and the household budget. The show asks where this can lead — and what happens when the grown-up children demand more honesty and fairness.
