The Year of Magical Thinking

"The Year of Magical Thinking" is a stage adaptation of Joan Didion's autobiographical book of the same name, directed by Staiko Murdzhev and performed by Anastasia Lyutova. The production draws the audience into the author's personal storm — a year in which reality and memory intertwine in an attempt to make sense of the inexplicable, and pain, love and hope struggle for the last word. It turns Didion's autobiographical confession into a universal story about love, loss and the magical thinking that helps us carry on — a journey that is painfully honest yet unexpectedly hopeful.
