Rays and Shadows

A French historical drama screened as part of the CineLibri film-and-literature festival, in the "Lumière" hall at NDK. The film tells the story of journalist and media magnate Jean Luchaire and his actress daughter Corinne, in Nazi-occupied France. Through Corinne's perspective, recorded on a borrowed tape machine, it follows her struggle to reconcile her deep love for her father with the fact that he was executed for treason in 1946 — an intimate yet sweeping account of moral compromise, guilt and human resilience amid historical upheaval.
