Rum Masterclass | Takamaka

A masterclass devoted to Takamaka rum, produced on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles. The tropical climate, local sugarcane and Creole culture shape the rum's character, while a combination of pot-still distillation, column distillation and oak-barrel ageing gives it freshness, aroma and depth. The tasting moves through the range from Takamaka White Rum to the St André Series, with each expression — aged in a different type of barrel — carrying its own character and story. The session is led by Nicolas D'Offé, a family member behind the brand who played a key role in growing Takamaka from a small Seychellois family distillery into an international premium brand in under five years; he will speak about the brand's heritage and its expansion into the European market.
