The Last Free Spot on Earth

"The Last Free Place on Earth" is an interactive performance — an absurdist comedy with documentary elements by Toni Karabashev, inspired by real stories and interviews tied to the construction of the Struma motorway and the reactions of residents of Kresna and nearby villages. It tells of a forgotten village caught in the path of a new highway, whose residents decide to declare independence, raising questions about the place of small communities within big plans, the price of progress, and the fate of tradition and identity. The audience is not a passive observer — through their votes they shape how the action unfolds and decide the village's fate.
