Kinomania 40: The good soldier

The film examines duty, strict obedience and the individual's moral dilemmas within a rigid institutional or military hierarchy. The protagonist is placed in a situation where unquestioning obedience to orders collides with his personal values and the system's unyielding reality. The story explores the psychological dimensions of loyalty, the cost of compromise, and inner rebellion against ideological or social oppression. A drama by director Stephane Brize (original title "Un bon petit soldat", France, 2026), starring Alba Rohrwacher and Vincent Lindon; a Venice Film Festival selection.
