Honesty and Other Fiends

The newest solo by choreographer, performer and video artist Zornica Stoyanova, who works between Sofia and Philadelphia, blends contemporary dance, stand-up comedy, poetry and visual effects. Through humor and irony, the performance explores humanity's obsession with greatness and examines honesty as both a personal and societal value in an age of "alternative facts," presenting the thinking body as an act of resistance. This bold, new political solo confronts truth, power and the female body, drawing on the artist's communist-era identity.
