The Warlock

The Warlock is a comedy by Stoyan L. Kostov, staged by Georgi Stoilov. A con man arrives in a Bulgarian village and convinces the mayor, the priest and two young women that the photographer Mancho can help them hide their wealth through his "delicate craft." When counterfeiting equipment is found in his studio, the villagers draw Mancho into their scheme and raise money to import paper from Vienna to print fake banknotes. In the end Mancho turns out to be the real trickster, leaving the naive villagers penniless while mocking their gullibility.
