The Black Ball

“The Black Ball” (La bola negra) is a Spanish-French drama by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, starring Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close. Inspired by Lorca’s unfinished work, the triptych weaves together three periods – 1932, 1937 and 2017 – and the stories of three men in the long struggle for queer rights. The screening is part of CineLibri 2026; the film is in Spanish with Bulgarian subtitles and runs 155 minutes.
