The Overcoat

"The Overcoat," after Gogol — a one-act Theatre 199 production directed by Nina Dimitrova, who performs alongside Stelian Radev. A mix of comedy and sadness in a tale with a fantastical beginning and an unexpected end, about a ghost, a clerk and an overcoat — at its heart, the freedom of the human spirit, which cannot be buttoned into any coat. One of the longest-running Bulgarian productions, winner of 14 international awards, staged at the Edinburgh Festival and the only Bulgarian production to play London's West End (Royal Shakespeare Theatre, 2000).
