SpongeBob: The Musical

The SpongeBob Musical is staged by the Sofia Puppet Theatre, based on Stephen Hillenburg's animated series, with a book by Kyle Jarrow and musical production conceived by Tina Landau. It is directed by West Hyler, with set design by Charles Murdock Lucas, and stars Ventsislava Asenova, Lyubomir Genchev, Rumen Ugrinski, and others. The story brings the audience to Bikini Bottom, threatened by an enormous danger that turns the residents against each other until SpongeBob shows them how to come together. It's a bright, colorful, high-energy show with a live rock band on stage and 18 performers, sung entirely in Bulgarian.
