10 Years of The Blackbird

The Black Chicken is a one-man show by actor Marius Kurkinski, built on three short stories by Nikolai Haitov — "Merak," "The Guardian of the Oat Field," and the title story, "The Black Chicken." This year the production marks ten years on stage. It follows people whose lives are hard and full of suffering, yet who still seek repentance and never miss a moment of joy or love — Kurkinski describes the Bulgarian soul in Haitov's stories as pure and untainted. An evening for anyone who wants a single storyteller to carry them through time with the weight of Bulgarian words.
