All on Board: Diversity as a Driver of Better Governance

The forum "All on Board: Diversity as a Driver of Better Governance," organized by the Bulgarian Fund for Women together with the Institut français de Bulgarie, looks at how companies are responding to Bulgaria's new rules on gender balance on corporate boards, which transpose the EU's 2022 directive on the subject. Built around two panel discussions, the event moves the conversation from the letter of the law to its practical application — who actually makes decisions in a company, and what diverse backgrounds and perspectives add to the quality of those decisions. The first panel, "Who makes the decisions?", brings together Denitsa Velichkova of the Financial Supervision Commission, Veselina Panayotova of the "Mom Got a Job" foundation, and Olya Peneva of the Bulgarian Foundation for Business and Human Rights. The second, "Boards that make diversity an asset," features Lenka Nedbalova (BNP Paribas Bulgaria), Ruzha Babekova-Acosta (Accenture Bulgaria) and Céline Bolard (Groupama Bulgaria), moderated by journalist Maria Cheresheva.
