Nothing Is What We Think It Is

Iva Sveshtarova's newest piece draws on the paradoxical figure of Saint Wilgefortis, a bearded saint on a cross who was later "erased" from history. Through the female body, the crucifixion and the miracle, the performance explores how images are made and why we come to believe in them. The cast is Ana Petkova, Vasilia Drebova, Emilia Toncheva and Iva Sveshtarova.
