Cries from the Underground

A theatrical adaptation of Dostoevsky's "Notes from Underground," directed by Stoyan Radev and featuring Yordan Rasin. In the production, truth is presented not as philosophical discourse but as "cries of pain," following Nietzsche's observation about the visceral nature of the text. The central figure, the "underground man," confronts his own wounds through total self-exposure — acknowledging his disagreement with the laws of the established world while accepting his own guilt and powerlessness; he is set against Nietzsche's "last man," who seeks comfort over meaning, avoids suffering, and lives a shallow existence without God, truth, or purpose.
