Централни софийски гробища

The Central Sofia Cemetery, also known as the Orlandovtsi Cemetery, is the main cemetery in Sofia, established in 1889. Besides a Bulgarian Orthodox church, it holds a Roman Catholic chapel, an Armenian Apostolic chapel and a synagogue, as well as Russian, Serbian, Romanian and British military sections — the last with a memorial to the British officer Frank Thompson. Georgi Dimitrov, Stefan Stambolov, Todor Zhivkov, Zhelyu Zhelev, Elisaveta Bagryana, Blaga Dimitrova, Hristo Smirnenski and the footballer Georgi Asparuhov are buried there.
